This week in the Tribune, we report on the plans to close Clover Flat Landfill near Calistoga. A representative for Waste Connections, the company that owns the landfill, was in Yountville Monday to answer questions about the closure and how it might impact upper valley garbage pickup and rates.
Also, read about the high rate of Napa County elected seats that are uncontested on Nov. 5. Of the 56 elected seats, only 19 are opposed.
Plus, Calistoga High School junior Elias Escobar, one of the 32 students in last year’s Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam class, traveled to Washington D.C. earlier this month to talk about the class’s patent-pending inventions on a panel at the U.S. Department of Education headquarters.
