This week in the Tribune, exciting news: the city of Calistoga officially owns the Napa County Fairgrounds. A ceremony was held on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the real estate transaction, which was finalized on Monday.

Also, a County report was released, highlighting farmworker housing needs. Among other findings, the report revealed an increasing shortage of farm labor driven by a lack of affordable housing. Read more about the report findings in the paper.

And this week, local businesses were warned that Caltrans could be imminently planning to red tag and remove all objects on Lincoln Avenue sidewalks, which is considered the road agency’s right-of-way.

Plus, some good news: Licorice, the 70-pound puppy who spent 72 days on the run in Calistoga, was safely captured and is now in good hands. She was spayed at Calistoga Pet Clinic last week and is now being fostered by a trainer while Wine Country Animal Lovers searches to find Licorice her forever home.
