This week in the Tribune, we have a story reflecting on the long public service career of state Sen. Bill Dodd, who, due to term limits in the California Legislature, was forced to walk away from the Sacramento political arena. Dodd, a Napa resident, said he would find new ways to serve his community moving forward.

Also this week we write about a Calistoga Junior-Senior High School work experience program that offers paid internships to special education students who receive class credit while simultaneously gaining real-world experience working at local businesses.

Other stories include a report on the final, certified results of the Nov. 5 election, as well as the City Council’s decision to renew the city’s contract to be a part of the county-wide Napa Valley Tourism Improvement District marketing contract.

Plus, we preview the Sip and Sabor Festival, taking place this weekend in Napa. The groundbreaking two-day event celebrates the profound influence of the Hispanic and Latino community on the hospitality and beverage spaces.
