This week in the Tribune, we report on the massive hydrogen tank that made its way through town this week and was placed at new microgrid site near lower Washington Street. Called the ‘Calistoga Resiliency Center,’ the hybrid, renewable-energy system will use hydrogen fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries and will have the ability to power most of the city for 48 hours in the event of PSPS events.
Also, we provide updates from the July 29 collision between a pedestrian and a police vehicle that sent 22-year-old Calistoga resident Brenda Sarabio to the hospital. A CHP investigation into the accident that involved an on-duty Calistoga Police Sgt. had not concluded by press time this week.
Plus, learn about the city’s new Fairgrounds revitalization director Sheli Wright whose first day on the job will be Sept. 3, and read about the inaugural events being held at the property’s Great Lawn: Flynn Creek Circus performances that will take place from Sept. 12 to 15.
