Best Practices

Frequency Is Key

The most successful advertisers don’t just run one ad per year! Instead, they use frequency as part of their strategy to reach “top of might awareness” in the minds of their customers.

Enhance Your Tracking

Including a UTM with your link is a great way to get deeper insights into your campaigns. If you’re running display ads on our website, chat with us about tracking pixel options.

Invite Action

Give our readers a reason to act and an easy means of doing so. Your ad should include a single, simple action for readers to take.

i.e. Don’t miss out. Click here to buy your tickets today.

Build Killer Creative

  • Limit text on your ad image, ensuring no more than 30% of an image has text
  • Use clean, sans-serif texts when possible
  • Use a high contrast font color compared to the background
  • Limit the number of logos on your ad image to 1 – 2

Deadlines

To ensure a smooth and timely launch for your campaign, please adhere to the following deadlines and creative specifications. Our goal is to make your advertising experience seamless and effective.

All creative assets should be sent to: [email protected]

Please Note: all deadlines refer to business days, defined as Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM, excluding holidays.

  • Final Draft Article & Assets Submission: 10 business days (2 weeks) prior to publication
    • The complete and final article draft, along with the sponsor recognition requirements outlined below (images, logos, copy), must be submitted
    • Submissions after this date may result in a delayed publication

Underwritten Content

As our editorial team handles all content creation independently, the only requirement from the sponsor is their branding information. This simplified process allows for a much shorter lead time.

  • Topic Selection: 1 week prior to publication date
    • decide upon a general topic, i.e. high school sports, local events, civics
  • Final Asset Submission: 1 week prior to publication date
    • Includes logo images, headlines, and copy for bottom and top recognition

Late Submission Policy

Adherence to these deadlines is critical for a timely campaign launch.

  • Creative assets received after the stated deadlines are not guaranteed to launch on the scheduled start date
  • The campaign will launch as soon as possible once approved assets are received. The advertiser remains responsible for the full cost of the placement as per the insertion order
  • If you anticipate a delay, please communicate with our team as early as possible. We are here to help
